Alexandra Victoria Burkhart I am 18 years old, born on July 10, 1995 in Brownsville, Texas. I started dancing at the age of 2 and my dance experience covers Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap, Lyrical, Ballroom, Contemporary, Latin, and Gymnastics. I was class Secretary, Soundsation's captian, Varsity Choir's squad leader, and co-captain of the Chargerettes at Veterans High School. Education & Goals: I will be attending Texas State University- San Marcos majoring in Dance and Business. I plan to gain experience in the dance world and come back to Brownsville to create a better futures in dance for the children. |

Other activities: I assist and teach at Dance Expressions in Brownsville TX. I have volunteered at homeless shelters, nursing homes, feast for sharing. I’ve picked up trash around the city, alter served at Holy Family Church and I am currently a lector at Holy Family Church |

Alanna Maza I am 17 years old and was born in Brownsville Texas in september 1995. I have been dancing since I was two years old. I am currently dancing and teaching at Dance Expressions and am an officer of the St. Joseph Academy Sweethearts dance team. Education & Goals: I am currently a senior at St. Joseph Academy. I plan to attend either New York University or Loyola University in Chicago. I plan to get an agent eventually and hopefully dance professionally someday while simultaneously working on a degree in criminal law. |

Other activities: : I have volunteered for the teleton collection and party for the last 3 years, I am an active member of the National Hispanic Institute as well as a volunteer Cross-Examination coach for the tip of Texas Great Debate team. I volunteer at sunshine haven hospice center and companion animal hospital |

Amanda Lizette Hernandez I am 16 years old and love to do anything and everything possible. I have always had a strong passion for all styles of dance, and currently work as an assistant teacher at Dance Expressions. I am a captain for the cheerleading squad, vice president of a skills USA chapter, a gymnast, and participate in track and field. Education & Goals: I am a junior at Veterans Memorial High School where I plan to graduate towards the top 5% of my high school class. I hope to attend The University of the Incarnate Word, where I will study to become a pharmacist. |

Karina Parra I am 13 years of age and I love to dance. I am from Brownsville, Texas and I have been dancing since I was seven years old. My dance experience covers Ballet, Hip hop, Tap, Jazz, Latin, Ballroom, and Lyrical. I am a member of the Chargerettes at Veterans High School. Dancing has made me a more disciplined person. Education & Goals: I want a profession in the medical field. I would love to become a professional performer on Broadway and travel around the world. I want attend different dance companies to get more dance experience. |

Other activities: I have also participated in volleyball, track and I have volunteered at La Posada at the Good Neighbor Settlement House. Also I am currently the student council treasurer for my school. |

Norma Estefania Hernandez I was born in 1991, in Brownsville, Texas. I started dance at the age of three and since then dance for me was not a game to laugh about; it was hard work and dedication. It takes passion and a little edge in order to succeed. I was in the drill team in Oliveira Middle School and Hanna Strutters. Education & Goals: I am currently in the University of Texas at Brownsville working on my Bachelors in Biology and certified teaching. Eventually, I want to teach Biology and be a dance teacher at the same time. |

Other activities: I have volunteered at the Brownsville Police Department and participated in a Santa Toy Drive, where we passed out toys to unfortunate kids. I volunteered at a Saturday event called Pumpkin Patch Kids, where I helped kids make their own pumpkins for Halloween. I enjoy student teaching at different schools and preparing unique lessons. I enjoy going to the zoo and learning about different types of animals. I enjoy exercising and spending as much time as I can with family. I like watching local theatre performances as well. |

Lizeth De la Garza I am 29 years old with 24 years of dancing experience in various dance genres including ballet, jazz, tap, flamenco, folklorico, hip-hop, modern/contemporary, lyrical, salsa, merengue, cha-cha, bachata, tango, and African dance. I was a Captian of the St. Joseph Academy Sweethearts. I was a member of the Duke Division I Dancing Devils. Education & Goals: I graduated from Duke University in 2006 majoring in Public Policy and Marketing Management, with a Dance minor. |

Other activities: I participated in the Brownsville’s first, “Rio Grande Valley Dancing with the Stars,” an event that benefits the Rio Grande Valley Diabetes Association. |
